Franklin has been in our area a number of times in the last few years as Samaritan's Purse has a hangar and local office just down the street in Soldotna.  Franklin is working to expand ministry throughout Alaska.  This summer, SP volunteers from across the country will come to build a large new facility for the Covenant camp in Unalakleet, AK.

We're excited to see Jon Little setting the pace in the Yukon Quest (http://www.yukonquest.com).  Jon is a great Christian guy and friend.  For the past number of years, Jon has graciously opened his calendar once a week during summer months to share with volunteer teams that want to know more about dog racing.

See the article about Jon as he is currently setting the pace in the Yukon Quest.  Click here for the article.

We have been waiting for the last two weeks for Mt. Redoubt to erupt.  It is a mountain that it is 60 miles west from our town (Soldotna, AK).  We see this mountain every clear day.  Click here for updates on the volcano.  The picture to the left is from the eruption of Mt. Redoubt in 1989.
